FAQ's
Services & Pricing
How much does a haircut cost at Kaizen Barber Collective?
Our haircuts start at $40 and go up to $55; pricing varies by service, barber, and add-ons. See our booking site for exact rates on fades, beard trims, combo packages, shampoos, shaves, scalp treatments, etc.
What's included in a standard haircut?
A standard cut includes a detailed consultation, scissor and/or clipper work, hot towel neck shave, and styling.
What is a skin fade, and can I get one here?
A skin fade is a haircut where the sides and back are tapered down to bare skin for a sharp, clean contrast with the top. It's one of our most requested cuts — just show your barber a reference photo or ask for your preferred fade level (low, mid, or high).
Do you do scissor cuts for medium-length hair?
Yes, scissor cuts are actually the better technique for medium-length styles, since clippers are built for short, tight cuts and scissors give the control needed to add shape, texture, and movement to longer hair. Whether you're growing your hair out or maintaining a medium-length style, tell your barber the length and shape you're after and they'll work entirely with shears to keep the ends natural and the length even.
Do you offer beard trims and shaping?
Yes, we offer beard trims and shaping as a standalone service or combined with a haircut. We'll line up your beard, clean the neckline, and shape it to suit your face.
Do you do traditional hot towel face shaves?
Yes, our hot towel face shave includes a straight-razor shave, pre-shave prep, and a hot towel treatment for a close, smooth finish.
What's a scalp treatment, and is it worth adding to my visit?
A scalp treatment cleanses and stimulates the scalp, which can help with dryness, buildup, or irritation. It pairs well with a shampoo and deep conditioning service, and most clients add it every few visits rather than every cut. Our version of the scalp treatment is called the Osage Treatment.
Do you offer shampoo and deep conditioning services?
Yes, we offer shampoo and deep conditioning as an add-on or standalone service; its a good option if your hair or scalp needs extra care beyond a regular cut, or if you want a relaxing finish to the service.
Do all barbers offer the same services?
Services can vary by barber and their individual specialties. Check each barber's profile on our booking page, or call (385) 588-1622, to confirm who offers a specific service like scalp treatments or straight-razor shaves.
First-Time Clients & Kids
What should I expect at my first visit to Kaizen Barber Collective?
Plan to arrive a few minutes early to have optimal time for your service. Feel free to grab a drink and take a seat while you wait. Once ready your barber will call you over, drape for cleanliness, do a short consultation to talk through length, style, and any reference photos before starting.
Do you cut kids' hair?
While we would love to serve kids of all ages, the shop is not equipped to accommodate younger children. We are happy to cut kids 10 years and older. Due to the difficult nature of kids cuts, we don’t offer discounts.
What should I bring or do to prepare for my appointment?
Come with clean, dry or slightly damp hair if possible, and bring a reference photo if you have a specific style in mind. We can work with hair that has product in it, but a better result can be achieved with cleaner hair. If bringing a reference photo, please find one that has similar hair type, color, and texture to set us up for success.
